More flots. Was dragging ass this morning, but caught up by lunch. Listened to Henry Rollins all morning. Hadn't listened to his spoken word since I took the bus to New York last. It's a good way to kill time. I burned down about 3 and a half hours with it.
Decided after lunch would be music time if i had to force myself. It wasn't as much forcing as yesterday, though. Listened to some Fall Out Boy, Billie Holliday, Etta James, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Sara Bareilles. Actually ended up listening to entire albums rather than randomly bouncing from artist to artist. That made me feel less like a crazy person. Ended up finishing off the afternoon with 2 Skinnee J's. Went with Sexy Karate as it was really pretty out this afternoon and that album always makes me think of summertime.
This morning was another story altogether. It was raining and cold and just all around unpleasant out. Was definitely regretting not bringing my jacket as the back room is pretty cold and people were constantly coming in and out the back door. Since I sit near the back or the lab work area, I was privy to all the cold air. I tried sitting somewhere else when I got there initially, but decided that I still fear change and went back to my spot near the back of the room by the fridge and microwave all antisocial-like.
This afternoon I was also invited to go out into the field tomorrow for hands on training. I graciously accepted. Really, anything to get out of that f'ing lab. The only bad thing (and it's not a bad thing really, just a slight inconvenience) is that since I'll be shadowing one of the long time techs I'll be watching and learning and thus won't be listening to any music tomorrow. However, this isn't a music blog(working on that), it's a blog about the job, archaeology (mostly). But, once I get full on in the field I'm planning on acquiring an ipod shuffle. Just a little something to pass the time. We'll see how that goes, though. I just don't feel good about bringing the big one out.
