Lazy.

So, maybe I'm getting lazy about this. I haven't forgotten about it, let me assure you. Still watching machine. Going back to an area of the site that has higher priority. We got the utility easement (finally) and have to finish it all near abouts the end of January. The utility easement is pretty much just an extra 40ft from our original right of way. So, we're opening up a strip 40ft from the edge of our original EBs. Started by revisiting EB56 as that had the highest probability of having features. Oh, it did. It was quoted as easily having "enough stuff to keep us busy for 2, maybe 3 months."

Now... it doesn't take a mathematician to realize that 3 months from now falls quite close to our end of January deadline. The thing about that is we've got roughly three times the area we've opened up (~3 blocks to give you an idea) left to open up. This isn't including the area where we shorted the ROW earlier this year that we'll be hitting too. But, we should be getting reinforcements by way of new people. Maybe that'll help. As well, BJS should be back in town from defending his thesis and getting his Master's Degree. That should add another supervisor to the list to keep an eye on folks.

Work aside, I really have no excuse for not keeping up here. I'd promised in a previous post's comments that I'd post pictures of the things I've been knapping. V had her camera out to take family photos for BJS and I conned her into snapping a few quick shots of what I made.


They're not great, I'm still working on my technique, but the process of doing this has really proved useful in the field. I can look at a flake and be able to tell how it came off of the larger core. It's not exactly analysis, but it's something, and it's more than what I had before.

Currently listening to Alter the Ending, the new Dashboard Confessional album. Listened to The Great Misdirect by Between the Buried and Me while I made supper (corn and mushroom chowder). Both are pretty fantastic. Not exactly the same sounds, but variety is the spice of life.

Anywho, started writing more. JDK lent me a few Jack Kerouac CDs and I've been listening to them a bit. Thinking I'll go get one of my Kerouac books from my library and just add it to the stack of things I'm reading at the moment. But, had a line keeping me awake last night and ended up getting up and putting it to work until ~3am. Maybe I'll post it when it's done.
