Holy crap, 2 posts in 1 week! Either I'm feeling terribly motivated or it's a long weekend and there isn't much to do. I'm thinking the latter. Stew on the stove so I'm sure this will be brief... or choppy.
Where to begin? BJS has left for greener pastures. He's headed up north to pursue his doctorate. God speed to him. Got a bit more rain this week, but overall was hot to finish, not too hot... but hot enough.
Trained 2 more new folks in the lab on the rain day. They seem to know what's doing so hopefully Tuesday won't be a "Monday." W/ BJS gone the beginning of this week will be a little shorthanded, but EMB gets back on Wednesday so it should all level out then.
Got The Last Filipino Headhunters by David Howard and Dark Shamans: Kanaima and the Poetics of Violent Death by Neil L. Whitehead this week and am enjoying them greatly. Will be reading Dark Shamans first as JDK is rereading it and hopefully fruitful, intelligent conversations will ensue. Sophomoric giggling about "armadillo tails" is also an acceptable outcome.
Replaced last year's field shoes. Sadly, they were falling apart. Would wear the boots year round, but the steeltoes get heavy.
Anywho, back to watching movies and eating too much.
