Mother Nature is a Harsh Mistress.

Imagine the gymnasium you played dodgeball in as a kid. That's the size of the block we bailed (or tried to) yesterday. Give or take. There was about a foot and a half to 2 feet of water (give or take) in the bottom of it. Covering things we need to dig. We ran the pump all day while we hand bailed out other areas, then after lunch focused all our efforts on the one big thing. 3 lines and a pump and it didn't look like we made a dent in it. As we left yesterday, it started to drizzle.

This morning, I am sore in places I'd forgotten about. Somehow I managed to pull a muscle that runs all the way down my right buttock. I could barely bend to get the juice from the fridge. Mostly, I feel alive. It's a good feeling. A very good feeling. Granted there might have been some gruffness in the act, but sore is something.

Back to it today. Invested in rubber boots at local farm store, found new work socks which I believe I will invest further in. Knapped all weekend on obsidian and didn't lose a finger. Still a good sized pile of the stuff left. Anywho, back to bailing.
