Had it been a normal, not wet, not rainy day it wouldn't have been an issue, I think. But, it was wet and somewhat rainy. MCT and JDK were out, JB wasn't so much helpful, so I had options... take everybody back to the lab or try and make what we could of it and do what we could with what was workable. Seeing as how we're behind schedule the latter seemed a good plan. Called EMB in /6 and she was looking to stick out too, so there we go.
Last week we had people upset about leaving early because of the heat. "It's not that hot." Etc. Friday we had people upset about staying out with a little muck. No one is ever happy; I guess JDK was right. Anywho, end up trying to salvage a day and come away with 3 workable features. Sent everybody else to lab at varying times. Done is done, though I guess. Can't change it now. Got a fair half day in the field, back to lab got photo training and new people training done. (New new girl may be a handful) Then looked at how much safety fence we'd need w/ JDK and KJG. If we wrap the whole thing it'll come out to roughly half a mile of shitty fence. Going to take some time today and see about finding something more durable that might last us the time we'll be here.
So we got a mini-excavator. It's a good time, got to step out per OSHA regulations for a pair of basin corners that ELW is digging out. It was only partial fail. Even still, it's kind of nostalgic running the machine.
Off to the grocery.
